Míla's Telecommunications systems

Míla's telecommunication system is extremely robust and diverse, based on two main systems: Access Network and Trunk Network.

Míla's Trunk Network builds mostly on fiberoptic cables but also on copper lines and microwave connections. The network includes all urban cores in Iceland.

Míla's Access Network builds mostly on copper lines but also fiber optic cables and microwave connections. Nearly all companies and households in Iceland are connected to the copper line system.

There are three submarine cables connecting Iceland to the world. FARICE was taken in to use 2004. DANICE was taken in to use 2008. The third submarine cable is Greenland Connect, connects Iceland to Canada via Greenland.
